Sandhill Cranes are a real joy to photograph. Their grace in flight, energy in taking off, width of their wings, or the color on the tip of their head can all make for interesting viewing for nature lovers.

In this early morning shot I've let the colors of the sky reflect in the water as the bird digs into the shallow pool. The details have been intentionally left out as the silhouette speaks volumes. As someone with mental health struggles, I can really relate to the need for self love. My therapist used to often ask me if I had compassion for myself. And I'd just stare back befuddled at the notion. It is an important part of healing and not as easy for some as it might be for others.

Each piece is custom made after the order is placed. The Aluminum prints usually take up to a week in production. Lumachrome Acrylic can take up to three weeks in production.
